Redheaded Stepchild is an acoustic folk band that changed the fertile folk music scene in 1996. This band is the artistic medium for the collective talents of singer/songwriter Kathryn Koch and guitarist/songwriter David Nanni. With the release of their first studio recording, Time Will Tell, the group began an agenda of frenzied touring that would last for almost five years.

Most recently, Redheaded Stepchild has been in Nashville, TN to work on building their songwriting. Their music is built around fiery vocals and melodic melodies that are both deep within the traditional roots of the folk genre. Their musical talents extend to include such instruments as the guitar, the harmonica, the saxophone, banjo, fiddle, and piano. Their music is definitely something unique, as their name suggests, as the mix bluegrass with folk, blues, and many others.

The highlights of this band center around the 6000 recordings sold at over 1200 shows in more than 250 venues across 22 states. They've opened for such acts as Rusted Root, Medeski, Link Wray, W.C. Clarke, Richard Buckner, They Might Be Giants, The Mollys, as well as many others!

Some quotes about this band, all which can be found on their website: (http://www.redheaded-stepchild.com/press.htm).
